Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making this site usable by everyone, regardless of ability or assistive technology.
Our commitment
VELDT & VEIN is committed to making veldtandvein.com accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology.
Our target standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the W3C.
What we do
- Build with semantic HTML, using ARIA attributes only where semantic HTML cannot express a relationship.
- Maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and user-interface components.
- Provide visible, high-contrast focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Honour the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query: animations, smooth-scroll, and any scrubbed image sequences are disabled or replaced with static alternatives for users who request them. - Provide alternative text on meaningful images, and empty alt on purely decorative images so that screen readers skip them.
- Test with screen readers (VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, NVDA on Windows) and with keyboard-only navigation.
- Use system font fallbacks so the Site remains readable while custom fonts are loading.
- Avoid scroll-jacking, magnetic cursors, and other patterns known to cause accessibility issues.
Known issues
We acknowledge the following known limitations as of the last-updated date above:
- Some product capsule images on the homepage are decorative SVG renders rather than full photographic content. Alt text is provided for those that convey information.
- The newsletter signup form requires JavaScript to submit. A keyboard-accessible fallback is provided.
- The journal article on the Nagoya Protocol contains complex legal terminology; we are working on a plain-language summary for screen-reader users.
We are working to resolve these. If you encounter any other barrier, please tell us.

Continuous improvement
Accessibility is not a checkbox. We review the Site against WCAG 2.2 AA periodically, train our team on accessible design and content, and prioritise accessibility in every release.
Compliance reporting
We publish this statement in the spirit of the European Accessibility Act and good practice generally.
