A note on transdermal magnesium

The evidence on transdermal magnesium uptake is mixed. A 2017 Nutrients review found that limited absorption occurs through the skin, but the effect on serum magnesium is small. We do not claim this product corrects magnesium deficiency.

What it does well — supported by sensorial research and our own usage testing — is provide a deeply relaxing bath ritual whose primary mechanisms are the warm water, the dissolved minerals’ effect on skin, and the lavender’s well-documented role in evening parasympathetic activation.

How to use

Add a heaped handful (around 50g) to a 38–39°C bath. Stir to dissolve. Soak for 20 minutes. Rinse lightly afterward; pat skin dry; apply oil to damp skin. Use one or two nights a week.

When not to use

Avoid if you have open cuts, recent surgery, or are pregnant in the first trimester. Magnesium can intensify the effects of some medications — check with your physician if you are unsure.
